HTTP redirect checker (301 / 302 chain)
Free redirect checker: follow 301/302 chains, see each hop status and Location header — no paid API.
A redirect checker shows every hop in an HTTP redirect chain — status codes and Location targets — so you can verify 301 migrations, HTTPS upgrades, and www/apex canonicalization before SEO changes go live.
How to use this redirect checker
Enter a full URL or domain. We request it without auto-following forever, recording each response status and Location header up to a safe hop limit. Use this before a domain move or after enabling HTTPS redirects.
What to look for
Prefer a single 301 to the final HTTPS canonical URL. Chains of three or more hops waste crawl budget and can confuse some clients. Loops or mixed http/https bounces should be cleaned up.
- 301 — permanent (usual SEO signal)
- 302 / 307 — temporary; do not use for permanent domain moves
- Final URL should match your canonical and sitemap entries
